Birthday Party

For the last couple years I've requested going to Color Me Mine for my birthday. We planned to go but year after year things always seem to come up and we wouldn't make it. Finally this year my friends; Kim, Kat and Theresa, were determined to arrange a party at Color Me Mine. They brought a bunch of munchies and drinks. I had so much fun. I really enjoyed seeing all that was possible. And I was inspired by the creativity of the demo pieces. I definately will be going back again. I have the best friends!!!

This is my piece!

Singles Hike to Stewart Falls

I heard somewhere that a group of mid-singles (30-45) were going to hike Stewart Falls on Saturday. I decided to go even though I didn't know anyone that was going. I did actually know one girl, Paula, who was a roomate to a friend of mine just after college.

Paula and me

There were 15 total but a group of 4 broke off and stayed at the falls

The guys in the center switched as photographers so we could get everyone.

Hiking the Bonneville Shoreline Trail

Last Thursday my neighbors, Kat and Kim, along with Kat's family and I hiked the Bonneville Shoreline trail. We were originally going to spend the weekend in Jackson Hole camping and rafting. When that trip fell thru the hike was our consolation activity. Hmmmmm not quite the same. Kim is 6 months pregnant and Kat carried an 18 month old on her back, I think I got off easy. What a slacker!
We parked at the Bridal Veil parking lot and started the trail there. Stuart and the 2 boys took off at a much faster pace since they had to hike the twice as far as the rest of us. They hiked up to the squaw peak road and then back to the van. While the women and little kids hiked to the road and waited for the van to come pick us up.

Kat turned around and the 4 of us were hiking in stair step heights, it was so odd we had to get a picture of it. It was a great hike. One that I'd never done before but would do again.

Provo Airport Hosts WWII Airplanes

Three of the most famous WWII bomber and fighter aircraft are on display at the Provo Airport, including a P-51 Mustang, B-17 Flying Fortress and B-24 Liberator. I went with the neighbor kids. We got to look at and in the airplanes.

But getting wet from the fire truck was the favorite!

Wild animal encounter

Sounds exciting? Well not really but definately out of the normal. On Saturday I hiked up to the Y. I was sitting on the lower seriff of the Y because there were a lot of people there and I wanted them behind me. 2 girls arrived and someone asked them if they had led the ram all the way up the trail. I looked over and there a few feet back on the trail was a ram. I started taking a movie and right on que he walked right in front of me. There is no zoom in the movie he walked about 5 feet in front of me. I was a little worried but obviously not enough to get up. When he was right in front of me I was looking at him and didn't notice the camera was too high. It is always humbling to remember we live so close to wildlife. I'm also glad it wasn't walking on the trail behind me. If it decided I was a threat and took the offensive it would win.
