I have a new job...

I started working as a Reservation Agent for jetBlue. The job will be part-time and done out of my home. Because the reservation department is open 24/7, I can try to work hours in the evenings and weekends, therefore not impacting my insurance business. I worked hotel reservations back in my college days and this was like getting back on a bicycle after many years.

I lost a lot of revenue 3 years ago when the recession hit. I have been struggling to build the business back up but it has been very slow going and my resources are all but gone. This PT job at jetBlue is a huge blessing right now. It came at the perfect time.

I just finished 4 weeks of full-time training up at the call center. It was very taxing on me timewise. Many of you know how driving any distance kills my eyes, yep it was pretty bad. But I prayed my way thru it and managed to get there and back every day. On the bright side I got to know a diverse group of people in my class and really enjoyed going thru training with them. I had a great class (if not a little dramatic sometimes). And getting 4 weeks of full time pay was almost worth the pain. Here we are: jetBlue University Class 142 PM

Now I have 8 more shifts to work up at the center and then I get my equipment to work from home starting in June. I can hardly wait.

I am looking forward to all the places I can visit, since one of the best benefits is that I can fly standby on jetBlue and some other carriers. So to all my out of state friends you might want to get your spare rooms ready because I may be coming to see you soon.

Per company blogging policy I have to add this disclaimer to my blog that any discussion of my job or the company jetBlue are my personal expression and do not necessarily reflect the views of jetBlue.

That's great!

I'm sure JetBlue woudln't have minded anything you had to say. :) I guess they're not unwise to ask for a disclaimer, though.
